Training course "Volunteer management in the Red Cross/RedCrescent".

Dear colleague:

A good online learning opportunity "Volunteer management in the Red Cross/Red Crescent" will start on the 30th of April 2012 and will end next 30th of July 2012, using the virtual learning platform of the Spanish Red Cross. With the accomplishment of the virtual training course "Volunteer management in the Red Cross Red Crescent" the participants will develop the necessary skills and experience to acquire the following knowledge and competences:

• To know in depth the main phases and procedures established for the volunteer management.
• To acquire the necessary skills to manage and coordinate the volunteers who join and develop activity in the Red Cross Red Crescent.
• To recognise the process of volunteer management as a process ruled and structured with a purpose: the correct incorporation to the Red Cross Red Crescent and to the activity of those persons who want to develop a voluntary activity.
• To recognize the importance of establishing quality criteria in the volunteer management.
• To work in a virtual way a certain number of situations and cases that can be given during the work with volunteers and to know the best way of answering before such situations.
• To establish new systems of communication that makes possible the work in groups as well as the exchange of information and experiences between the participants to the training course.

Other interesting information:

• Length of the training course: 3 months.
• Participation requirements: commitment to develop the entire training course, and to participate in its evaluation.
• Price of the training course: 50EUR. The Reference Centre on Volunteering will send information to the selected students with the account number to transfer this money.
• The training course will be developed in English.
• Profile of the participants: for this training course, and considering the aims established to test and to identify future trainers, we are looking for volunteer managers of local or regional branches with good English knowledge.

As you will see in the registration form, the deadline to send the registration form to the Reference Centre on Volunteering (Javier Fernandez – jfl@cruzroja.es) will be next 15th of April 2012.

Note: we will require all parts of the registration form to be completed and returned otherwise applicants will not be accepted onto the programme.
